THE CONTEXT
A Free Way to Check a Doctor
doctorrating gives patients in India a free way to check a doctor's name and registration number against the public NMC and State Medical Council registers, find the right authority for a complaint and understand their rights. For doctors, it offers free profiles and websites that show verified registration details.
Its position is clear and deliberate: "We verify. We don't rank." Payment does not affect verification or placement, and the site makes no claims about clinical skill.
THE PROBLEM
Specific Searches, Hard to Win
People look for this information when it matters: before a treatment, or after something has gone wrong. Their searches are precise, such as "doctor registration number check", "nmc doctor search" or "wbmc doctor search", and they are spread across many states, cities and medical councils.
Those searches are dominated by official registers that are difficult to use on a phone. A new site had to be understood quickly by search engines, and by the AI assistants that increasingly answer these questions directly.
WHAT WE DID
Built for Search Engines and AI Assistants
We shaped the site around the way patients actually search, then made every page easy for machines to read.
- City verification pages: dedicated pages for cities including Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune and Gurugram, each titled the way people search, for example "Verify a Doctor in Kolkata (NMC), Free Check".
- Answer-first guides: patient-rights articles that answer the questions behind those searches, from how to verify a doctor and file a medical complaint to hospital overcharging and refused medical records.
- Structured data: Organization and WebSite schema across the site, FAQPage on the home page and HowTo on the verification pages, so search engines and AI assistants can tell what each page does.
- Mobile-first pages: three in four clicks come from phones, so the pages are built to load quickly and work well on a small screen.
- Clear, consistent facts: the site states plainly what it does and does not do, the kind of unambiguous information AI assistants rely on when they describe a service.
- Search measurement: Google Search Console tracking of clicks, impressions, queries and pages, used to decide which pages to build and improve next.

AI VISIBILITY
Ready for AI Answers
The same groundwork that helps Google also helps AI assistants. Clear facts, question-led pages and structured data give tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews reliable information to draw on when someone asks how to check a doctor in India.
The figures above come from Google Search Console and cover Google Search only. AI citations are not included in them, and no AI visibility figures are claimed without measured data.
